Thanksgiving is almost here! Although it’s traditionally about celebrating what we have with our family and friends over an excessively indulgent meal, there’s still cause for some good old decorating to spruce up the day’s atmosphere.

Glassware is a great canvas for many craft ideas. We’ve also taken some items from previous projects and re-used them for this one. You can see where we used these baskets here for Easter decorations and here for summer festivities.

Glass candleholders are great candidates for our Decorating Magic® Glitter Sprays. We like to use them along with our new Decorating Magic® Glitter Sealer for a more durable application. Gold glitter spray adds to the warmth of the Thanksgiving color scheme.

We also used Decorating Magic® Spray Glue to attach some artificial leaves to the glass vase. (We do not recommend that you use real leaves, although we do respect our American values and therefore we cannot stop you if you so choose.) We then filled the vase with decorative bamboo we colored with our Champion® Premium Enamel in copper, metallic and gold, a complementary mixture for the fall season.

Repurposing the baskets was as simple as re-spraying them a different color. We used our decorative ColorSpray® Ultimate® Enamel in eggplant and terracotta. By filling the baskets with festive corn and gourds we further solidified the belief that the pilgrim’s meal looked very, very similar. What else would you do with all those gourds anyway?
